Righteous Impact is a non-profit organisation which was founded by Jonathan Kabamba ( Rychus Ryter ). The organisation's aim is to be of assistance to young children in need.It was when I (Jonathan Kabamba) (Rychus Ryter) visited DR Congo in the summer of 2009, that I became motivated to help provide resources which I took for granted in my everyday life, to the less fortunate. The thing that touched me the most during my experience, was the fact that the children were very appreciative of things that we take for granted daily. Despite the fact that some of them did not have any living parents, they were still able to keep a smile on their faces through-out all the negativity and struggles going on around them.I myself coming here when I was young and leaving DR Congo to come with my family to the UK, in an estrange way gave me the opportunity to escape the cyclone of constant disappointment, helplessness, starvation and uncertainness, which other young children in DR Congo are still caught up in. However, although I physically left, going back home made me realise how connected I was to my childhood home, it made me value my life, and also appreciate just where exactly I had been in my life, what I had been through and where I am now. I am a DRC child who was taken out of the struggle and my experience made me literally place myself in the shoes of the children back in my home country, some as young as three, who would go days on end wondering the streets, no home to go to, no food in the fridge to just consume when desired, not even any simple tap water to go and drink when their helpless throats become dry and in need of something to quench their thirst. In the UK we have free education from 4 until the age of 18 (beyond if extending years in college), giving you the opportunity to earn qualifications which will enable you to obtain a job so you can earn a living which you can survive on with comfort. Free health care is also another benefit which we receive living in the UK, which permits a large amount of the population to receive free medication as well as the free health checks whenever we require. In the UK water is considered something of a minor, it is always there, in the taps, cheap bottles are available in shops, and if you even walk into a fast food shop, most will not find it an issue you asking for a simple free cup of tap water. In other countries water is a luxury. Something which most of us complain about consuming because of its lack of taste, is something which children in countries need to survive, but have little means of. These are just a snippet of things in life which we can take for granted in our day to day lives. If the children in DRC received free education, it would mean that those innocent souls would not need to spend their daytimes walking along the streets trying to sell stolen cakes, just to survive. It would mean that they would be able to go to school daily meaning that their time is occupied, and in turn learn how to maintain a healthy consistent living. If health care was also free in DR Congo, it would mean that deaths which took place, even in my family due to lack of medical resources, would not have occurred. The fact of the matter is, to us, these things are all taken for granted for granted. But to others, they are life changing, life saving and absent. My main area of focus through my work with Righteous Impact, is on the children, as my experiences from interacting with them have clearly shown me that they have so much potential but yet still, they are so restricted as to what they can do, due to the lack of basic resources and help available around them. Righteous Impact's main aim is to assist in meeting the needs of children who have become vulnerable due to the civil war in which DR Congo has faced. We have a desire to make a great change in DR Congo and anywhere else help is needed.Proverbs 22:9 Whoever has a bountiful eye will be blessed, for he shares his bread with the poor.We truly believe that their is a future for young children and they can strive for greatness with a little help from us.
